Scheveningen, one of the most beautiful seaside resort in the North Sea that this year, 2018, celebrates the 200 years.
Scheveningen is not simply a beach, is a place where you can relax drinking a mojito in one of the beach clubs, have amazing food overlooking a sunset, being thrilled jumping from the bungy jumping or having a horse riding on the seashore.
Scheveningen beach is beautiful by summer, but also in winter there are plenty of attractions and activity, such cool markets in De Pier, or the ice skating in front of the Kurhaus or again the ice sculptures exhibitions.
How to reach Scheveningen from The Hague centrum
If you are planning to move with public transport, there are several tram and buses going from the centrum (and the two train stations) to Scheveningen.
Trams 9 and 1, bus 21 and 23 will bring you directly in front of the Kurhaus, the historical hotel symbol of Scheveningen.
If you are traveling by bike, then you can take the beautiful route of the Scheveningseweg, biking in front of the beautiful Peace Palace and through the Scheveningse Bos: this is a beautiful biking trail that will lead you exactly in front of the beach, where you can park your bike in one of the several (free) parking offered by the municipality of The Hague.

There is really plenty of choices and for every taste: all of the beach clubs offer from fresh seafood to hamburger, but the most famous in The Hague when is about eating fish is for sure Simonis: you can eat directly on the beach, or have some fish & chips along the boulevard or even eat at the harbour of Scheveningen, where there are 3 different kinds of restaurant, from the fancy one to the big and historical harbour restaurant.

If you’re more up for a traditional Dutch hapje,(snack) then you can enjoy a sunset view from the restaurant Zanzibar, directly on the beach of Scheveningen.
There are at least another couple of restaurants that deserve a note: for the meat lovers, you should not miss the Brazilian Rodizio and the wine restaurant Lemongrass with a beautiful overview of the harbor.
what to do in Scheveningen
If you decide to spend a day in Scheveningen, you will not be bored for sure, as there are plenty of activities to do.
Starting from De Pier, you can decide whether to jump on the Ferry wheels, having a thrilling ride on the zipline, a jump 60 meters high from the Bungy Jumping or a relaxing floating bath and a romantic dinner.
